As students transition into grades 5-8, they enter a pivotal stage where collaborative learning becomes essential. At Bridge Academy, our middle grades curriculum is designed to support this growth, offering a blend of guidance and independence.
We believe that these scaffolded years are an excellent opportunity for students to learn not just what to study, but how to learn effectively. Our approach emphasizes self-directed learning, empowering students to take charge of their educational journey while still providing the structure they need.
The Your Natural Learner Middle Grades Curriculum offers a comprehensive framework that allows students to embark on a “choose your own adventure” style of learning. With 12 themes available, students can select three each year that resonate with their interests. This curriculum encourages them to ask questions, research answers, seek help from mentors, solve problems, and embrace the discomfort of uncertainty.
By fostering skills such as media literacy and knowledge sharing, we guide students as they gradually take ownership of their learning. Our ultimate goal is to prepare Bridge Academy graduates to confidently navigate their educational paths and beyond.
